Traffic changes will be implemented starting tomorrow (Friday, May 6th) in Washermanpet, Chennai Metro City, due to ongoing tunnelling work for the Chennai Metro Rail Project.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Traffic Police on Wednesday, May 4th, the following information has been provided:
"Tunnel work will be conducted from Kannan Round-tana to Bhoja Raja Nagar. Consequently, traffic changes will be implemented in this area starting tomorrow (Friday, May 5th).
As a result, buses originating from Kannan Round-tana will not be permitted to travel via Kannan Street. Two-wheelers coming from Kannan Round-tana must take the route via Thiruvotriyur Salai, M S Naidu Street, Chinna Munusamy Street, and then reach Kannan Street.
Heavy-duty vehicles heading to Bhoja Raja Nagar should follow the route via C P Salai, Korukkuppetaai, Railway Gate, Kannan Street, Bhoja Raja Railway Gate, and finally reach Bhoja Raja Nagar.
Additionally, vehicles are prohibited from accessing Kannan Street via Kannan Round-tana. Vehicles traveling from Kannan Street to Kannan Round-tana should take the route via China Munusamy Street, M S Naidu Street, and proceed to Kannan Round-tana!"
