The travel route for the Express Train from Chennai Egmore to Rameswaram is being changed from the 6th of May.
In a notification released on behalf of the Southern Railway yesterday (Wednesday, the 4th of March), it was mentioned:
"Maintenance work is being undertaken on the tracks under the Trichy Railway Division. Due to this, the route of the Hamsafar Express (Train 20973) from Rajasthan Ajmer to Rameswaram will be changed from the 6th of May until the 27th of May.
According to this, the weekly Hamsafar Express, which starts on Saturdays from Ajmer (Rajasthan) at 8.20 PM, will now travel via Villupuram, Cuddalore Port, and Virudhachalam to reach Rameswaram!"
