Avadi, May 19, 2023 - In order to facilitate the ongoing Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) work for Phase-2, Corridor-5, and the construction of an elevated corridor at Assisi Nagar, the Avadi Traffic Police have implemented traffic modifications and road diversions along the stretch from 200 feet Road to Kumarappapuram Main Road. These changes will be in effect for a duration of one year, starting from Thursday.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic and safety in the construction area, the following modifications have been made:

Trucks and Heavy Commercial Vehicles Restricted on Milk Colony Road:
Trucks and heavy commercial vehicles are prohibited from accessing Milk Colony Road from 200 feet Road. This restriction aims to maintain road space and prioritize the movement of passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.

One-Way Traffic Flow:
The stretch from the junction of 200 feet Road to Assisi Nagar Main Road junction has been converted into a one-way road. This change will streamline traffic movement and enhance safety in the area.

Access to Milk Colony Road:
Only passenger vehicles (two-wheelers, cars, auto-rickshaws) and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) are permitted to access Milk Colony Road from 200 feet Road. This arrangement aims to facilitate smoother passage for smaller vehicles and ensure efficient movement.

Restrictions on Assisi Nagar Main Road to 100 Feet Road:
All types of vehicles traveling from Assisi Nagar Main Road junction to 100 Feet Road are restricted due to the one-way traffic system. Motorists are advised to use Assisi Nagar Main Road as an alternative route to reach "Kamaraj Salai" and 200 feet Road.

The Avadi Police have emphasized that proper access will be provided to residents residing within the mentioned metro rail work zone route. Efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience and ensure residents can reach their destinations smoothly.

Motorists are urged to adhere to the new traffic regulations, follow the designated routes, and exercise caution while traveling through the modified areas. The Avadi Traffic Police will be monitoring the situation closely and providing necessary assistance to commuters during this period.
