Students studying in Chennai Corporation schools have registered a pass percentage of 79.60% in the Class 10 board examinations, an increase of 3.5 percentage points from the previous year.
The pass percentage for girls was 85.36%, while the pass percentage for boys was 74.11%. Two schools, Chennai High School (CHS) Rangarajapuram and CHS Thousand Lights, secured a 100% pass percentage.
Three centums were recorded overall, two in Mathematics from Chennai Government Higher Secondary School (CGHSS) Pulla Avenue and Market Street school. And, another centum was recorded in Science by a girl student from CGHSS Pulla Avenue school.
Among the Corporation schools, 12 students managed to get 99%.
The top five CHS with high percentage are:
- CHS, Rangarajapuram & Thousand Lights (100 percent)
- CHS Kodungaiyur (98.04 percent)
- CGHSS Nungambakkam (97.92 percent)
- CUBHS Washermenpet (97.44 percent)
- CHS Cooks Road (97.30 percent)
The results were announced by the Director of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, on Friday.
