Prospects for heavy rain today (31st May) in 10 districts in Tamil Nadu!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rain today (Wednesday, 31st May) in one or two places in 10 districts in Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, Theni, and Salem.

In a notification released in this regard by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Pa. Senthamaraikkannan, it is mentioned:

"Due to the phenomenon of thermal convection prevailing in the lower layers of the atmosphere, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder today (Wednesday, 31st May) in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy rain in one or two places in 10 districts: Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Thirupathur.

There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in one or two places from tomorrow (Thursday, 1st June) for three days until the 3rd of June.

The sky will be somewhat cloudy in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs today (Wednesday, 31st May). There are prospects for mild rain in one or two places in the city. The temperature may be between 84-102 degrees Fahrenheit.

Warning for fishermen:

As high-speed winds are likely to blow at 40-45 kmph and intermittently at 55 kmph over the Bay of Mannar, the adjacent coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Sri Lankan coastal areas, and the southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea for fishing in these areas on the 2nd and the 3rd of June!"
