Decision taken to install CCTV monitoring cameras at the Vehicle Parking Lots in Chennai Metro Rail Stations!

Vehicle parking lots are available at 35 Chennai Metro Rail Stations, including Chennai Central, Egmore, Airport, Alandur, Thirumangalam, Koyambedu, Vadapalani, and Washermanpet.
Out of these, only 2-wheeler parking lots are available at 9 Chennai Metro Rail Stations.
In this scenario, a decision has been taken to install CCTV monitoring cameras in all the vehicle parking lots for the safety of the Chennai Metro passengers` vehicles, as well as the safety of the Metro Station.
Chennai Metro Rail officials shared the following information regarding this:
"Currently, surveillance monitoring CCTV cameras are only installed in some important vehicle parking lots of Chennai Metro Rail Stations, including Chennai Central and Egmore. CCTV monitoring cameras are proposed to be installed in the parking lots of all Chennai Metro Rail Stations.
Twenty CCTV cameras are to be installed at Koyambedu Chennai Metro Rail Station. Twelve CCTV cameras are to be installed at Chennai Metro Alandur Station. Sixteen CCTV cameras are to be installed at Nanganallur Chennai Metro Rail Station. Therefore, a total of 48 CCTV monitoring cameras are to be installed.
These CCTV camera outputs will be monitored, and security will be intensified accordingly!"
