Tamil Nadu government to operate special buses for Deepavali

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has ordered to operate special buses for Deepavali festival celebrations.

As many as 768 buses would be operated from the Koyambedu Mofussil Bus terminus in Chennai on the 9th of this month to all the district headquarters and other important cities in the state. Likewise 633 buses would be operated on the 10th and 543 buses would be operated on the 11th of this month. 884 special buses would be operated from the Koyambedu bus terminus on the 12th of November. This apart 925 special buses would be operated on the 9th of this month from various places across the State. 940 buses on the 10th, 977 buses on the 11th and 1189 buses on the 12th would also be operated. In all, a total of 6859 special buses would be operated between the 9th and 12th of this month. Special buses would be operated on the return routes from the 13th to the 16th of this month.

The statement said, arrangements had been made to facilitate people traveling to destinations beyond 300 kilometers to reserve tickets in the special buses online at the website www.tnstc.in. Arrangements have also been made to set up 16 reservation counters at the Koyambedu bus terminus.

For the benefit of the residents of Chennai arrangements have been made to ply additionally 200 local buses from various locations to Thyagaraya nagar and to the Koyambedu bus terminus from the 5th to the 13th of this month.
