The sudden heavy rains on Sunday night have flooded many roads in Tambaram in Chennai now. There is a huge risk for many commuters and pedestrians now here as the rain water has got mixed with sewage. The Shanmugam Road here is flooded completely due to the heavy rains. Inspite of just 2hours of rains, the rain water entered into some shops here causing many issues for the shop keepers etc. The heavy rains has also created issues on Mudichur Road and on the Velachery Road as the water reached the hip levels making these roads impossible to use.

It is really shocking to mention that the Pallavaram-Kundrathur Road turned worse due to the rains now. Here, the stagnated water has covered the potholes completely making it very tough for the commuters. A food delivery person fell down from his bike here and the public managed to help him. People new to this area might not know about the presence of potholes.

Places like Perungalathur and Peerkankaranai etc are now flooded with rainwater. Many in Tambaram and its nearby places now fear that deadly diseases like dengue etc might spread fast due to the sewage water now.

It was mentioned by R. Alagu Meena, Tambaram Corporation Commissioner that water stagnated on the roads would be removed with the help of motors. Before monsoon next month, all the SWD works here will be completed. Point is that the pot holes ridden roads would be re-laid soon.
