UIDAI plans to finish off Aadhar Card distribution by 2014

The UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani stated that in the coming year – 2014, each one of the second Indian citizen will have their own twelve digit Aadhar card number. As of now, the cards have been distributed to nearly forty crore people. The chairman also said that they are planning to distribute two crore cards every month.
The UID cards are not mere cards for identification. These are helpful even for all sorts of online procedures. Opening a new bank account, obtaining a new SIM card, etc are few of the instances wherein the card will get used.
