Southern Railway has announced the suspension of 44 EMU train services on Sunday, March 17th, from 10:05 am to 3:15 pm. This suspension is to facilitate essential engineering works along the Chennai Egmore and Villupuram section, particularly between Kodambakkam and Tambaram railway stations.
Affected routes include journeys from Chennai Beach to Tambaram, Chennai Beach to Chengalpattu, Chennai Beach to Arakkonam, Tambaram to Chennai Beach, Chengalpattu to Chennai Beach, and Tirumalpur to Chennai Beach, as stated in a press release by Southern Railway.
To minimize disruption for passengers, Southern Railway will operate passenger special trains connecting Tambaram and Chengalpattu, Chengalpattu and Tambaram, Kanchipuram and Tambaram, as well as Tirumalpur and Tambaram on the specified Sunday.
The Chennai Division has coordinated with Chennai Metro Rail Limited and Metropolitan Transport Corporation for additional services to accommodate passenger needs along the affected route during the specified period.
