The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced that the Civil Services Written Examinations, originally scheduled to be conducted on the 26th of May, are now postponed to be conducted on the 16th of June.
The competitive written examinations for the 24 prestigious Indian Civil Services, including IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, & IAS, are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year.
These Civil Services Examinations are conducted in 3 Phases - Preliminary Examinations, Main Examinations, and the interview.
The Civil Services Written competitive examinations for this year (2024) for filling up the 1055 vacant posts in the Civil Services were announced by the Union Public Services Commission in February.
The applications for the above were received until the 5th of March. It had been announced that the Preliminary Examinations (Phase-1) were scheduled to be conducted on the 26th of May.
In this scenario, the Union Public Service Commission has now announced that the above Preliminary Examinations of the Civil Services are postponed to be conducted on the 16th of June.
Details of the notification released by the Union Public Service Commission in this regard:
"The Indian Election Commission has announced the Parliamentary Election Schedule. Giving due consideration to this aspect, the Preliminary examinations for the Civil Services, which were originally scheduled to be conducted on the 26th of May, are now postponed to be conducted on the 16th of June."
