Transport corporations are making preparations for the upcoming Chitra Pournami festival in Tiruvannamalai, expecting a surge in devotees. They plan to operate special buses from Kilambakkam and Madhavaram terminuses on April 22 and 23. A total of 1,153 buses will be deployed from various parts of the state to accommodate the expected influx of pilgrims. Additionally, the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) will provide 40-seat-cum-sleeper AC buses from Kilambakkam, urging passengers to book seats online in advance to ensure smooth travel.

To manage the expected congestion in Tiruvannamalai during the festival, authorities have decided to set up nine temporary bus stations on April 22 and 23. This strategic move aims to streamline the flow of devotees and prevent overcrowding in the temple town. Furthermore, to facilitate pilgrims` movement within Tiruvannamalai, 25 mini buses will be operated free of charge for those participating in the traditional Girivalam circumambulation.

As the Chitra Pournami draws near, these measures are aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees making their way to Tiruvannamalai for this auspicious occasion.
