After his sensational victory against Firouzja Alireza of France in the Candidates Chess Tournament, Gukesh, Indian chess prodigy has now taken a top spot in the Indian chess rankings. This is spoken in high esteem now. By this win against the France based player, Gukesh secured the lead in the tournament. Nor only that, the win also made him the youngest chess player ever in the history to be a serious contender for world title. Out of the possible 13 points, Gukesh earned 8.5points and this has placed him half a point ahead of his rivals Ian Nepomniachtchi of Russia and USA based Hikaru Nakamura.
It must be noted that Gukesh`s extraordinary chess playing skills has taken him to the top spot now among the Indian chess players. His deep understanding of Chess game plus amazing composure has made him to play outstandingly in the matches in the Candidate Chess Tournament. With his Chess moves, Gukesh has even overtaken Erigaisi Arjun to become top ranked chess player. At present, Gukesh is ranked 6th in the global rankings.
It must be recalled that in the FIDE World Cup in 2023 Gukesh made many heads turn with his superb moves on the chess board and he won against GM Misratdin Iskandarov (AZE). With this win against Misratdin, Gukesh ended the 37 year long reign of chess champion Vishwanathan Anand as Indians top chess player. Fantastic Gukesh!! Good luck!!
