Keep your skin moisturised during winters by eating these important foods!!

Cold winters can be harsh on our skin. Our skin might dry out due to reduced humidity present in the air. During winters, many of us prefer to stay indoors with room heaters etc. This could remove moisture from the air and cause dehydration to the skin.  Bitter fact is that these environmental factors would make our skin harder to retain moisture and natural oils etc. In such a scenario, it is necessary for us to consume nutrient rich and hydrating foods.

We must eat these foods without fail during the winter seasons to keep our skin moisturised.

Avocados intake:

Point is that our skin`s lipid barrier would be maintained by intake of avocados rich in mono-saturated fats. By this, moisture loss from the skin could be avoided. The presence of vitamin E in avocados would protect skin from oxidative stress etc. Skin would remain hydrated.

Sweet potatoes intake:

Skin cell regeneration would be promoted by consuming sweet potatoes having beta carotene. By this, we could have a smooth hydrated complexion.

Nuts and seeds intake:

Our skin would get nourished when we consume almonds, walnuts and flaxseeds etc that have vitamin E. The presence of alpha linolenic acid or ALA in the flaxseeds would help in combating skin dryness.

Coconut oil intake:

Not only applying coconut oil, but consuming it also could improve skin hydration. It must be noted that the medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil gets absorbed easily and radiant skin would be promoted.

Citrus fruits intake:

The citrus fruits like lemons, oranges etc are rich in vitamin C that is necessary for collagen. It is known that Collagen plays a huge role in skin elasticity and skin hydration etc.

Cucumbers intake:

Our skin would get moisturised especially in the cold winter season when we consume cucumbers that are high in water content.

Spinach intake:

Our skin barrier would be protected and our skin would be kept moisturised when we consume spinach rich in vitamins A,C and E.

Oats intake:

The presence of beta glucans having anti-inflammatory properties would help in retaining skin moisture. During winters, it is good to eat oatmeal for breakfast.

Dark chocolate intake:

The blood circulation in the skin would get boosted by eating dark chocolates that are rich in flavonoids. The skin would be hydrated and glowing etc. It is good to consume chocolates with 70percent of cocoa in them.
