To Pay Tax- Corporation Targets Companies in Additional Areas

The Chennai Corporation has asked many companies in the added areas in the city to register themselves for the payment of the company tax. As the corporation did not hear up any objections from the respective companies, it will start up collecting the taxes once after the approval from the government. The companies which are found to pay company tax are mainly in the added areas like Ambattur, Tiruvottiyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Valasaravakkam, Perungudi and Sholinganallur zones.
As per the survey by the civic organization, last year the companies which did not pay the tax reach around 25,000. Comparatively, it is less this year as the count is only 13, 000 companies.
In addition to the company tax, the civic body has ordered the revenue department, to segregate the company details from other department who fail to pay the company tax. Also the corporation will find out the employee who fails to pay the professional tax in these companies.
