Those residing at the thickly populated market area, Radha Nagar, Chrompet can have a sigh of relief with the news from Highways department. The department has taken a call to finish off the construction of Radha Nagar subway that will however allow limited usage.

The cement concrete box portion was constructed at the first half of 2012, but on protests from the public, the work was withheld and it was left without even getting connected on the either side. Radha Nagar main road is the key path that connects Chrompet with GST Road. On opening of the subway, using the limited usage, two wheelers, pedestrians and auto rickshaws can travel through the path.

Speaking to one of the department officials, he said they have been waiting for proper response from the public, but it took too long time to decide. They wanted to finalize it amicably. For us to connect the subway on either side, it may consume three more months and it is likely that subway will get opened by mid of 2014, he added.
