Palani is the 3rd holy abode of the 6 holy abodes of Lord Muruga. ‘Panguni Uthiram’ festival is celebrated with importance only next to the ‘Thai poosam’ festival in Palani. It has great religious significance.
The most important aspect of the festival is the devotees
who observe severe fasting penance and carrying ‘kavadi’s with water which will
be used to bathe Lord Muruga.
This year, ‘Panguni Uthiram’ festival falls on 7th April. It will start with the ‘flag
hoisting’ ceremony.

performed in the noon time.
The scared marriage will be performed on the 6th day on 12th May. The Chariot procession will be
during the same night. Panguni Uthiram chariot procession will be on 13th April.
The festival will be celebrated for 10 days and will be
