Now Tamil Nadu has no power problems

Tamil Nadu was facing three to four hours of power cuts in several areas  for the last couple of days.

While the duration of load shedding was for three hours in rural areas, it was four hours in urban parts. But Chennai was spared from the latest round of load shedding.

However, normal generation was restored on Saturday night. A combination of factors such as tripping of many units at the Vallur thermal power project and the North Chennai Thermal Power Station was attributed to the development. Besides, a snag in a Tiruvarur sub-station resulted in the disruption of production of a few gas-based power plants in the central parts of the State. Also, one unit of the Kudankulam nuclear power project has tripped.
