Vijay initially began his career with family and romantic scripts. He made his career firm by giving best in such genres and with Thirupachi, he got titled as ‘mass hero’. His performance in this movie took him amidst towns and rural areas too. The same then continued in Ghilli and Thirumalai which were also super hits undoubtedly.

In a recent interview, Thirupachi director, Perarasu gave a note of advice to young actors that they should definitely avoid using punch dialogues, build up scenes and other self-praising songs. They shouldn’t follow the same method like that of Vijay, Ajith or Rajni. These three actors of course took years long time to reach the place they’re now at. It didn’t happen overnight, he pointed. It is their gradual and eventual growth that gave them the liberty to use mass elements in the movie.

“In fact, I had to convince actor Vijay to act for the lyric, “Nee Endha Ooru’; he felt it to be an over exaggeration of his own status. Despite being a successful hero in the film industry, Vijay didn’t want to exaggerate himself,” he added. Upcoming heroes should follow Vijay, he concluded.
