No liquor sales at hotels for 3 days from today – 6 months prison for offenders

As per the election code, liquor sales are banned during the election period. Mr. Praveen Kumar has warned if liquor is sold in hotels or bars, 6 months imprisonment will be the punishment. Sales of alcoholic liquor is banned a tall TASMAC shops and hotel from 10 AM today (22nd April) till 12-00 midnight on 24th April.

If liquor is sold at private hostels or clubs or star hotels or public places, legal action will be taken immediately for 6 months imprisonment. It is ordered that 24th April will be a public holiday. Legal action will be taken on companies / others which did not declare a holiday.

If any shop / institution is open, complaint can be made at the telephone 1950. The relevant election officer will check & action will be taken. Person accompanying blind voters will be allowed to enter the polling booth. The prisoners who have been jailed on Internal Security Act can vote by post. Other prisoners cannot vote.

Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel, all election officials and employees including the police can vote by post. No opinion polls & statistics should be published from 22nd April, 6 PM.
