Soon, Nine More ‘Namma Toilets’ in Tambaram

Nine more ‘Namma toilets’ will put back wrecked and tainted public toilets, soon in two months time.

As part of the furnishing decent sanitation amenities, the State government has endorsed this kind of facilities in about 385 locations across the State.

During February 2013, the first ‘Namma toilet’ was inducted at Tambaram bus terminus. It receives a good retort from people due to proper aeration and accessibility of water and lighting. As per the accounts of the municipal officials, nearly above 800 people will be utilizing the ‘Namma toilets’ on the daily basis in Tambaram.

Now, the municipality has recognized new nine locations to furnish these solar energy-rooted toilet chunks and the preface work has already in progress.

And the nine new locations include Thiruneermalai Road, Gandhi Nagar, Arputham Nagar, KK Palayam, Irumbuliyur, Selaiyur and Purakuttai.

In these places, each unit encompasses two toilets and each unit cost around Rs.13 lakhs. Special worldwide design of toilet will be in place at Purakuttai, and this cost Rs.24 lakh.

This work is anticipated to be completed in a two month time. The lighting in all the units is solely based on solar power antenna’s that are coupled to the lighting technique.
