In the recent innovative market, there are many apps are available for women safety. But Speed is the key factor which keeps it outstanding from the rest. In the list of apps, Mithila Harish`s FRIEND app scores top.
Most of the present women safety applications
entail the user to key in a button to send out siren messages or calls. But I
want to design a framework, such that it will elicit a signal once on earshot
of the user’s voice. In this app, just shout ‘Danger’ and it will take care of
sending messages to your close relatives enlightening your location, said
Mithila Harish, a final year B Tech Electronics and Instrumentation student at
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).
This app involves voice activation technology
in which the task will be using the pre-recorded voice to function the
application.
User can pick up any key words like ‘help’ or
‘danger’ to record it over their phone and the user has to frame a list of
their relatives and friends contact numbers, whom they want to contact during
their emergency.
The app doesn`t require the internet to be
on, but GPS needs to be on to ooze out the location information, said Mithila,
who crafted the app with the guidance of her professor Monica Subashini.
We have also appended emotional- touch to the app, in such a way that it can work on sensing the emotion in the user’s tone, she added.
