Children and summer.these two are something that does not really go hand in hand. With exams finally over and the holidays approaching, our parents are so glad to have the kids home 24/7 with them and plans for vacations and summer coaching classes are on and on. However, on a letdown side, there is this scorching heat that is ready to suck up the energy of our children which leaves our forehead creased with worry!!
It is almost impossible to stop our girls and
boys from playing in the sun and it is true that they do need some physical
activities now and then. Naturally, physical activities means getting hungry
very often and maintain the usual routine (while schooldays) is impossible.
This leads our children to pry on junks and other unhealthy foods that
eventually lead to gain over weight.
Apparently, a few reports have suggested that thousands of children have gained weight rapidly during the summer holidays rather than on regular school days. Maintaining a routine when it comes to food is very healthy throughout the year and in summer, the importance is much higher. In this article, we are providing a few tips that would help you to set a regular routine for your kids during the summer season that will keep them both energetic and healthy throughout the weeks.
Routine - A wise woman`s first pick
Whether there is school or not, your child needs food at the right time and ensure that their mealtimes are set and routine. Early rising is always best and luckily if you are kid is one among the few, then stuff him/her breakfast by 8 or 9. Ensure that your kid is done with luch by two in noon at the max and by 9`0 clock in the night, get done with the dinner and make sure your kid goes to bed early. This style not only helps to keep your child`s health stable, but also brings a routine and discipline in them.
Digestion - That`s what you need after all
Chips are kid`s favourite crony and keeping them away is not so an easy job. Here is another brilliant option - cooking light food adding very little oil to it. With entire day to while away, your kid would prefer to play the entire. While he or she is physically exhausted, it is not really a great idea to give then heavy meals. This is because; heavy and fatty food will make the kid nausea if taken before or after heavy physical workout. That is why light meals always keep the children both energetic and they are easy to digest.
Stock up large amount of Milk
Milk is extremely rich in calcium and it is a must that you get your kids to drink at least two glasses of milk every day. However, it is really hard shove milk in their throat, especially if your kid is a milk-hater. So, try to do something with milk that makes it delicious and likeable. It is a great idea to offer them lassi or buttermilk that tastes delicious, quenches thirst and as well as energises the children. Similarly, milkshakes are best choice too. Any kid will love milkshakes and by this way, we can easily induce milk in their system.
Picking Fresh
Hotter season leads the food to stale faster. If your child is off for coaching class or his or her academic year is still on, then ensure that you do not give them vegetables and fruits that are chopped in lunch boxes. This helps the fruits and vegetables to stale soon and enhances bacterial growth. This results in indigestion and gastric problem in the kids.
Give fruits that are apt for summer
Eating the right kind of fruit that are much suitable for summer protects your child`s health and helps suffering from mineral and vitamin deficiencies. Some of the best summer fruits such as mango, watermelon, lychee, muskmelon, berries and several other fruits keep your child hydrated and energetic throughout the season. Water is also another important element that will keep your kid hydrated. Therefore always give a bottle of water to your kid to carry and adding glucose in water makes you wiser.
Play with recipes
To kids, the food must look beautiful for
them to trust that they will taste delicious. It is indeed very simple. All you
have to do is get decorative with fruits. Cut them in various cute shapes and
place the beautiful on a plate to get their attention. Try giving them Aam
Panna and with a few juices such as lime, add a few mint leaves that are fresh.
From the ``dont`s" part, ensure that you never bring store brought drinks
since we don`t know if they are clean and this very bad for summer.
