Operators Fleecing Customers – Arasu Cable TV Corporation Warning!

In order to stop cable tv operators against cheating customers, the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation has ordered the operators to give the printed monthly subscription receipt for their customers, so as to make sure that customers are not highly charged.

Few months ago, the corporation has brought in a printed receipt approach, to avert operators from pulling surplus fees, officials said.  The government has fixed a payment fee of Rs.70 per month for every connection and the LCOs ought been consent to collect the amount.

Also officials insisted that, of the total fee the operators can keep aside Rs. 50 per connection as managerial cost and rest Rs.2 has to credit to the corporation’s account.

On Tuesday, during the video conference section with the district level officials, it has been insisted to have a check on the payment fee collected by the operators, in order to shun grievance of surplus fee collection, said the sources.

Across the state, there are about 24,000 LCOs to pick up signal from the Arasu Cable TV Corporation and the Multi Approach Operator to embark on the ‘Final Mile Connectivity’.

At the video conference, Corporation Chairman Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan, Managing Director J. Kumaragurubharan and General Managers Murugesh and Priya have intermingled with the officials.

At this event, the corporation officials solicited district officials to accelerate stipend of subscription fee.
