“Drink plenty of water” - this is very often uttered advice during summer season. But remember to drink ‘pure’ and ‘safe’ water rather than just ‘any’ water, as you may end up having severe cold and throat infection that in turn may lead to dangerous effects when untreated.

City doctors observe increasing cases of Pharyngitis or throat infection that are caused due to consuming unsafe water and road-side drinks. Speaking to a general physician at a private hospital, he says 80 per cent of patients who came for consultation to him in the past 45 days were identified to have pharyngitis. Furthermore, he adds that patients steps into the doctor’s clinic only after the disease reaches its second stage which may show symptoms like very high fever and bad cough.

This health ailment is said to be caused by bacteria and that it doesn’t show any sort of symptom in its initial stages.

To prevent oneself from this disease, it is necessary to ensure good quality and safety of drinking water and other drinks you have.
