Here is a new feature on Gmail. Users of Gmail an now auto-respond to mails they receive by choosing one of the three automatic response options available for use.
The tech giants of Gmail app service have launched the Smart Reply feature. This will be an addition to the earlier inbox feature which helped users in listing out and categorizing the mails they receive.
Survey on user`s access to mails state that on an average, about 13 hours of time is spent by an user to check and reply mails. This new feature introduced by Google will be of help in reducing the overall time spent to respond to mails.
Most of the mails received will require personal care and attention by the user himself. However, artificial intelligence can be used for understanding an email and respond using the auto-generated replies such as I`ll send it, I`ll look into it, etc.
The best of these three responses can be selected from the list of three displayed options. This process however is not completely automatic, but sure to help users reply faster and cuts down on the time spent for replying to mails.
Interestingly, over a period of time, the app will get familiar with your replies. For example, when you never use a particular reply option, the select option will not be shown in future at all.
Sources from Google states that the new feature will be available on Gmail app on Android and iOS by the end of this week. So far, no announcement is made regarding the introduction of this feature on web-version of Gmail. This feature is believed to help users respond to mails effortlessly using their smartphones.
