Noise-producing firecrackers should not be burst after 10 PM

The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board  has warned that people on the occasion of Deepavali should not burst noise-producing firecrackers after 10 PM.
 
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board  has issued a statement with regard to this. The statement mentions, The Supreme Court has ordered that during festive season, the crackers should be burst only between 6 AM to 10 PM. It also directed retailers to sell only crackers of noise level within 125 dB and also exhibit the type of crackers, chemical composition and their noise levels. The Board would conduct ambient air quality survey and ambient noise level survey both before and on Deepavali day in Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Tiruchi, Hosur, Cuddalore, Vellore and Tiruppur. The Board has requested the police to impose a ban on bursting of noise-producing firecrackers - atom bomb, hydrogen bomb, bullet bomb maroon and joint crackers of 1,000 wallah that have a noise level of above 125 dB  before and during Deepavali.
