The Grand Lodge of India has been given the honour of hosting the XII World Conference of Masonic Grand Lodges scheduled to be held at the Radisson Blu Beach Resort Temple Bay, Mamallapuram from Thursday, 22nd November 2012 to Friday, 23rd November 2012.
Addressing the media Dr Biswakumar said, “This prestigious international event is held once every eighteen months. This is the second time that the Grand Lodge of India has been given the honour of hosting it – the first time was in 2001 at New Delhi to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Grand Lodge. This time, to coincide with the completion of fifty years of its existence, the Grand Lodge of India will be hosting Grand Masters from more than 35 Grand Lodges across the world, representing all the continents. The general theme of the conference is “The Role of Freemasonry in Universal Peacekeeping”. More than 300 delegates from across the world are expected to participate in this conference“.

Mr Kamakoti,the Grand Secretary of Grand Lodge of India added, “Our Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M. will be completing his three term in office and will be installing R.W.Bro. Vasudev J. Masurekar, O.S.M., an eminent Chartered Accountant, Businessman and Winemaker from Mumbai, as his successor at the Grand Festival 2012 to be held from Saturday, 24th November 2012 to Sunday, 25th November 2012 at Rani Meyyammai Hall, Egmore, Chennai. More than 1,000 Masons are expected to witness this ceremony”.
