A new entertainment avenue will be set up at the Chetpet Eco Park soon.
Within the next few months, the visitors to Chetpet Eco Park will have a life-like experience being inside a dense forest even as they watch the screening of wildlife films.
The state government department of fisheries is planning to open this virtual reality centre theatre at one of the most popular getaway spots of the Chennai Metro City – the Chetpet Eco Park.
This virtual reality theatre is set to come up in a complex covering an area of 600 sq. metres. It will adopt the latest technology which will facilitate the viewers to sense and feel the surroundings of the scenes being screened. It is understood that the authorities are exploring the possibility of adapting the 7D technology but are yet to decide.
The project is on a rapid progress and soon the theatre with the virtual reality and augmented reality would be in action. The complex will also have an aquarium in the basement.
A senior official of fisheries department explained:
The civil work is nearing completion. Software installation will take three to four months after which the public will be allowed to use the virtual reality theatre. The construction plan is working according to the schedule.
