The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that a cyclonic format has developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Bay of Bengal. Because of this, there are prospects for medium rain in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
The southwest monsoon seasonal wind has been blowing quite strongly. The cyclonic format has developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the central Bay of Bengal. The wind from the eastern side and the wind from the western side meet over the South Andhra region. Because of this, it has rained in several places in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There are prospects of medium rain today (Friday, 8th June) in a few places in the northern districts and Puducherry as well as 1 or 2 places in the southern Tamil Nadu districts.
There are possibilities for heavy rain in a few places in the northern Tamil Nadu districts. The Chennai Metro city will remain cloudy today. There are prospects of medium rain some time.
