The charges quoted towards filing complaints with the TNRERA (Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority) is increased. As per what the Tuesday circular reads, for filing complaints with TNRERA, a sum of Rs 1600 needs to be paid, as per Section 31 of Real Estate Act, 2016 (for Regulation and Development).
According to Section 31, anyone can file complaint with the authority of the respective officer in any case of violation of the Act or the rules mentioned under. This can either be under the allottee or the agent of real estate.
Initially the rate was just Rs 600 and now it is hiked to Rs 1100.
Likewise, Rs 5,600 needs to be paid for filing complaint to adjudicating officer as per section 12, 14, 18 or 19 in the same Act. The Section 19 speaks about homebuyers’ duties, and Section 18 articulates amount returning and compensation payment in case of failure to complete or unable to offer possession of apartment.
