Krea University - Interwoven learning to prepare students for the 21st century

The environment of the 21st century will be increasingly characterised by the complex interplay between humans, machines and the environment. Young leaders would need to “learn to learn”, have a sense of purpose and realise the social consequences of decisions – with a sense of ethics anchoring their actions.  KREA University aims to prepare students for the unique challenges and opportunities the century has to offer.

With eminent governing and academic councils, the University seeks to impart highest of academic rigour and ethical standards in their programs. Its mission is to enable high potential individuals learn to create a positive, catalytic impact ethically in a dynamic and diverse world.

Eminent personalities such as Raghuram Rajan, N Vaghul, R Seshasayee, Sunder Ramaswamy, Kapil Viswanathan, Anu Aga, Manjul Bhargava, Vishakha Desai, John Etchemendy, Dheeraj Hinduja, Sajjan Jindal, Anand Mahindra, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Srinivasa Raju, S Ramadorai and Cyril Shroff form the Governing Council. KREA University is pioneering the concept of “interwoven learning”  - an approach that weaves together creativity and action, arts and sciences, theory and practice, Eastern and Western perspectives as also the learnings of the past with the readiness for the future. The theories are strongly internalised by immersive learning experiences of real world projects through partnerships proposed with various corporates, NGOs and research institutions.

The University has designed a 4-year (subject to UGC approval) residential undergraduate programme in Liberal Arts and Sciences leading to BA (Honours) and BSc (Honours) degrees. The course design will offer students a choice of electives after building a strong foundation of compulsory multidisciplinary core and skills courses.  The Krea graduates would have a wide choice of post-graduation and career options among corporates, government, NGOs, research organisations and entrepreneurship.

Krea University would have a holistic and rigorous admissions criteria to select high potential students; and would be considering financial assistance based on need assessment.

KREA University would commence its 2019 batch from its 40-acre IFMR campus at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Located 65 kms from Chennai, Sri City would also be home to Krea’s proposed 200-acre greenfield campus to provide a unique residential learning experience.
