UIDAI new service for address update in Aadhaar card

UIDAI introduces a new service for updating address for the Aadhaar holders, the official commencement of the facility will begin from next April. This service can make the address updating easy for the people who do not have a proper proof of their current residential address.  With a help of secret PIN the process of updating the residential address can be easily done on a click reported the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The new option for the verification of the residential address will operate from April 1, 2019. Along with Aadhaar letter and the secret PIN, people can update the address in Aadhaar through the SSUP online portal. All of these information were officially released as a notification by UIDAI on Tuesday.

People who are residing on a temporary address like working hostels or constantly changing labor categories and rented houses often face lots of verification issues in updating the Aadhaar address verification. According to UIDAI the new verification system will enable the card holders to easily access the whole verification with Aadhaar letter and secret PIN from UIDAI official website. The process is somewhat similar to the approaches of bank in providing credit or debit card for the customers.

One of the UIDAI official said the pilot testing will be conducted before the official release of the service in the UIDAI website. From January 1, 2019 the pilot testing will be processed and verified for any bugs or primary errors in the program.

According to the current regulations of UIDAI the official application of Aadhaar requires submission of any one of the 35 documents mentioned under the Aadhaar enrolment and update. Voter ID, Bank passbook, Driving license, registered rent agreement, Passport and Marriage certificate are some of the listed documents under Aadhaar regulation for official verification.
