At the same time, it had rained suddenly during the night session of day-before-yesterday (30th August) in Tamil Nadu.
In this regard, the Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, explained that there has been a cyclonic formation in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the state of Tamil Nadu. Due to this, there are prospects of widespread mild rain.
There are prospects of heavy rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and the northern districts.
He observed that it has rained more than average expected level during the south-west monsoon rainy season in the districts including Theni, Dindigul, Coimbatore, Nilgiri, and Tirunelveli.
