Delay in Chennai monorail

In the wake of Mumbai’s trial run of its monorail, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Ms. Sheela Balakrishnan has expedited the monorail project in Chennai. She has asked for a briefing on the delay of tendering for the project which was announced almost 18 months ago.
The Government has announced Rs. 8,500 crores for the project.
