As there are huge swelling crowds of devotees on Saturdays during the holy Tamil month of Puratasi, TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) has cancelled the VIP Break Darshan on Saturdays and Sundays.
The grand annual Brahmotsavam festival celebrations at the Tirupathi concluded yesterday (Friday, 21st September).
During the Brahmotsavam, 590484 devotees had Darshan of the Lord Venkateswara. The crowd of devotees continues to throng the Tirupathi temple.
Today (Saturday, 22nd September) being the 1st Saturday of the holy Tamil calendar month of Purattasi, Special Abhishekhams and Poojas were performed for the Lord. Thousands of waiting devotees participated and had Darshan.
Thousands of devotees had observed penance and visit the Tirupathi temple by foot.
Devotees in the Free Darshan category had to wait for 20 hours. The waiting time for the Rs. 300 ticket was 8 hour and the waiting time for the walkway and time-slot devotees was 5 hours.
All the 27 godowns in the Sri Vaikuntam Queue Complex was overflowing with the crowd of devotees.
As swelling crowds of devotees are thronging the temple during the Saturdays of the Tamil month Purattasi, TTD has cancelled the VIP Break Darshan category offered on the recommendation basis.
Accordingly, the VIP Break Darshan has been cancelled today by TTD (22nd September, Saturday). Further, it will be cancelled on 23rd, 29th, and 30th September and 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st October.
