As a move to reduce the total population of cars on roads and increase public transport usage, Infosys and Chennai Metro Rail Limited have got together for a new deal. Accordingly, Infosys employees shall take their office buses starting at Alandur metro station until Mahindra World City. Plans for such similar transportation until Sholinganallur office is being worked out.

This clearly aims at increasing the public transportation interest. In the following weeks, Infosys employees who wish to go to Sholinganallur may also start utilizing this facility. To reach a particular point, they may opt train facility and from there on, office bus facility will be provided to reach their workplace, says a senior official.

In spite of no relevant official confirmation from Infosys yet, five of their company employees have affirmed the update.

There were a number of Infosys employees who travelled till the Alandur Metro and then took their office bus from there. Henceforth, this pattern is set to continue!

One of the Infosys employees at Mahindra City says that he was too late in seeing a notification in this regard and so he failed to use the Metro. This plan however sounds good. As far as the road traffic is concerned, especially during the prime hours of the day – the morning hours – this is really a good plan. He hails from Koyambedu, and hence taking a train till Alandur seems to work out well.

To note, a similar deal was recently finalized by Chennai Metro Rail with DLF, Porur.

The bus facility provided is notably a 14-seater van from Alandur.
