Especially for the occasion of the ensuing Mahalaya Amavasya (New Moon Day), a special pilgrimage train to Kasi (Banaras/Varanasi) is being organised.
This train will start from Madurai on 4th October and travel via Dindigul, Karur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, and Chennai Central up to Mathura Railway Station.
The passengers in the train can perform the obeisance and prayers to their generations of departed elders in the Lord Vishnu temple located in Gaya in Bihar State. They can bathe in the sacred Ganga river. The passengers can also visit the famous and holy temples of Lord Vishwanath, Goddesses Visalakshi and Annapoorani.
