Aadhaar card received many negative backlashes owing to the information rights and privacy preservation of the citizens of India. There are still some concerns among public in terms of misuse of the personal information and illegal surveillance. In order to resolve those issues the central has come up with an idea of verifying Aadhaar information with an offline facility.
Some of the offline verification tools include QR codes and paperless KYC without involving biometrics and online UIDAI server authentication. The KYC process safeguards all the personal information, even Aadhaar number is not required for the whole process. Data mining and tracking are some of the major concerns for online based verification system of Aadhaar. With this new KYC scheme the privacy and security issues could be easily sorted out informs the government.
The offline method of verification will pass through both the Supreme Court’s order and the ruling out of biometric based Aadhaar verification system for private firms. The offline system will act as an additional Identification along with driving license, ration card, PAN Card and electoral photo cards.
Protection of privacy is the main motto behind the scheme of offline Aadhaar authentication process. The QR codes can be downloaded from UIDAI website along with hard copy printouts. QR scanner will read the code on an Aadhaar number printout. The paperless local eKYC can be stored in devices with share code to establish ID.
The offline system can avoid all kinds of demographic and biometric information with only name and address. The eKYC scheme can be used for opening a bank account or phone connection without sharing unique ID number. Government imposes these new ways to amend the law as well as encourage the Aadhaar based authentication system throughout the nation.
The government will not know the details of the verification for opening bank accounts or buying insurance or SIM cad in terms with SC verdict. Except the direct benefit transfer the two offline based applications can be used anywhere for verification process.
