TN CM inaugurates new bus terminal in Madhavaram

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, E. Palanisamy, inaugurated the new multi-storeyed bus terminus constructed and equipped with the latest technology in Madhavaram today (Wednesday, 10th October).

The announcement on the proposal to construct a multi-storeyed bus terminus to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 32 Crores in the Madhavaram Roundana Region over 8 acres during the year 2011 when Jayalalithaa was the Chief Minister.

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) commenced the construction and then review and revaluation were done on the project in the year 2016 and the revised project cost was estimated at Rs. 95 Crores.

Long-distance buses up to Andhra cities Nellore, Tirupathi, Kalahasthi, and Thiruvallur will be operated from this bus terminus. This terminus has the capacity to operate more than 100 buses at the same time.

Further, there is the parking facility for over 70 cars and 1500 2-wheelers in this multi-storeyed bus terminus complex.

In this scenario, the Chief Minister, E. Palanisamy, inaugurated by flagging off the services of 471 new deluxe buses with air conditioning and sleeping berths at a cost of Rs. 127 Crores.
