A latest update reported that the passengers who have reserved tickets in Deepavali special buses need not carry their printout copies. Passengers will receive a text message to their registered mobile number and it is all needed for the travel. The text message will have all the details regarding the journey and the passengers will have to present their identity proofs to the conductors to confirm the travel.
Travel time, bus number and mobile number of the conductor will be mentioned in the booked ticket. Pick up points and other doubts can be clarified with the given contact number said Mr. Vijayabaskar, Tamil Nadu Transport Minister. Long distance buses can be booked online through the website,

Thirty such booking counters have been set up at Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu, Tambaram, MEPZ, Poonamalle Bus stand and the newly inaugurated Madhavaram Bus terminus for all government buses for Deepavali travel facilities. Vijayabaskar informed that additional 20,000 government special buses will be operated between November 3 and 5 for facilitating huge crowd travelling in and out the state for the celebration of Diwali.
