Western Railway introduces shopping facility in running trains

The Western Railway administration of the Indian Railways has announced that a new shopping facility on the ruing trains is set to be introduced from the 1st week of January.

With the ever-changing times and lifestyle, the Indian Railways has also been progressing in providing various additional facilities and services. The facilities include s the provision of booking unreserved train tickets for some trains through mobile App,

In this scenario, the Western Railway has come up with the introduction of new service for the passengers who had forgotten to take the essential items by introducing a shopping facility on the running train.

A contract has been made with a private sector agency for this facility to be introduced in 16 Express Trains of the Western Railways.

2 salesmen, in uniform, will move in the coaches with trolleys containing various items. The passengers can buy the required items. Items such as toothpaste, brush, cosmetic soap, shaving cream, etc from them.

Apart from this, house consumer items, kitchen equipment, and physical exercise kits will also be sold.

 However, there would be no permission to sell items such as food items, cigarettes, tobacco, and Gutka. The passengers will be served with the list of items available to facilitate select the wanted items and buy.

In the 1st Phase of this scheme, this facility will be introduced during the 1st week of January in 2 Express trains which depart from Mumbai \. Subsequently, this facility will be expended gradually in other trains as well.
