The temperature level in the noon session to increase in Tamil Nadu

The weather bureau has estimated that the prevailing dry climate will persist for the next 2 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The temperature level during the noon sessions is likely to increase.

The Northeast monsoon rainy season concluded on 31st December. As the expected average rainfall failed utterly, the foggy season started even before the conclusion of the monsoon rainy season.

Chilly winter

The winter season intensified gradually right from November. Shivering chilly winter weather was experienced throughout the state. Especially, the chillness increased during the evening sessions from 4.00 PM and persisted till 8.00 AM the next morning.

In the Western Ghat mountainous range areas, the average minimum temperature is 15 Degrees Celsius. Foggy conditions prevailed in the villages situated in the adjacent parts of the Nilgiri hills. The minimum temperature was 3 Degrees to 5 degrees Celsius.

In this scenario, the weather bureau has estimated that the chilly winter will subside and the temperature level in the noon sessions will go up. Accordingly, the noon temperature has increased in several parts of the state. As on yesterday (Sunday, 29th January), places including Tiruthani, Thanjavur, Salem, Namakkal, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Kanyakumari, Madurai, and Palayamkottai. A temperature of 30 Degrees Celsius was recorded.

Fog

A maximum temperature of 29 Degrees Celsius was recorded in the Chennai Metro City.

As for the weather forecast, it is informed that the dry climate will persist throughout the state of Tamil Nadu for the next few days. Chill winds and snowfall will persist in the mountainous regions.  Snowfall will persist in the early mornings in a few places and foggy conditions will prevail in several places.
