Model tests to be conducted daily for +1 students

The principals/headmasters of all schools have been emphasized that they must take the initiatives to conduct model tests daily for the +1 students and thus prepare them better in order to improve the success percentage(5) as compared to the previous year.

The system of conducting public examinations for 1 students was introduced in the year 2018. This decision was taken by the state government of Tamil Nadu as it was ascertained that most schools did not teach the +2 lessons on subjects (probably carried away by the fact that there were no public examinations at that time for +1 students).

However, after the public examinations for +1 students during the year 2018, the marks secured by +1 students became lesser and over 20000 students who failed in more than 1 subject, dropped out of the schools and joined diploma courses.

With this consideration, a decision has been taken to avoid this kind of dropping out of schools and ensure the students complete till +2 classes. Thus, special coaching classes are being conducted in order to prepare the students better and to score higher marks in the +1 public examination.

Thu, special attention is being given this year to the +1 students in both government and private schools.

In this situation, with only a month remaining before the commencement of the +1 Public Examination, the Primary Education Officers have emphasized all the school headmasters/principals conduct daily model examinations for the +1 students and prepare the students to perform better.

The Directorate of School Education has stressed that the school headmasters/principals/ teachers and not must explain the question paper format to the students and make them clearly understand the same – the model question papers can be accessed from the official website - www.dge.tn.gov.in. The model question papers should be prepared accordingly.
