With the aim of honing the little brains of school children, Philatelic Bureau has come up with the idea of conducting summer camp for school children. This is purely an activity based camp involving letter writing sessions and classes to spread awareness on philately.

In these sessions, the basics of postage stamps and the many jargons related to philately will be taught. Also training will be given on stamp book preparation and ways to exhibit and preserve the same. Also, the functioning of post office will also be taught. And the skill of letter writing will also be taught in detail.

In his note about this, the postmaster general of Chennai city says the camp aims at students of class 6 to 9. Higher class students can also take up the camp. It is to be conducted for half a day on 3 days. The session duration will be between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

Batch-1 will be conducted between 23rd and 25th April. And the following batch will be conducted up till 30th May. The charge per student will be Rs 250. This money is towards providing Philatelic Deposit Account and relevant materials needed for the classes.
