For the start-ups, the city of Chennai is now among top 100 cities in the world

This news would certainly bring great happiness on the faces of the Chennai and TN people. It is now said that Chennai has added one more feather to its cap as it is now in the top 100 cities in the world for the start-ups. Other cities that are in the top 100 are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai. This was as per StartupBlink that is global start-up ecosystem map with thousands of registered start-ups, co-working spaces and accelerators.

It must be noted that the rating system evaluates IT data from start-ups, accelerators and co-working spaces registered on the IT platforms. It is important to mention that this rating system aims to identify cities having strong start-up ecosystems. The important information is Moscow is ranked 10th and is followed by Bengaluru at 11th. At 14th place is New Delhi followed by Mumbai at 29th and Chennai is at 74th position and Hyderabad is ranked 75th by this StartupBlink.

The amazing piece of news is Moscow in the year 2017 was ranked 14th and it moved up to the 10th position now and Bengaluru moved from 21st to 11th position now. By this many cities like Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong etc were bypassed. In comparison with 2017, Chennai and Hyderabad moved more than 100 positions up.

The city of San Francisco has been regarded as the best for the start-ups and is ranked 1st. It must be taken into account that the list has got more than 1000 cities from as many as 100 countries. The city of London has been ranked 2nd and is followed by the city of New York at 3rd position. It has been pointed out by the Moscow Agency of Innovations that there are more than 4500 start-ups in Moscow. This agency has provided statistics, expert and analytical information to the ranking. According to the CEO of Moscow Agency of Innovations, Mr. Alexei Parabuchev, it is clear that Moscow has got developed innovation systems and it is growing at a fast rate.

It was pointed out by Tatiana Shaumyan, who is the head of the centre for Indian studies of Institute of Oriental Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, that Indian and Russian cities must exchange experience in the field of innovation. She added that the city of Moscow and the city of Bengaluru would be proud of going head to head in this prestigious rating. She finally hinted that Moscow would share experience with the Indian cities.
