All about Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha!

Founding
“Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha" was established in the year 1918 by our beloved Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi with the sole aim of propagating Hindi in southern states. The first Pracharak was none other than Devadoss Gandhi son of Mahatma Gandhi.

The motive
"Hindi Prachar" was a movement that emerged as part of Freedom Movement and the leaders who led the nation to "FREE INDIA" felt the necessity of making a single Indian Language the National Language, and through that language, unify the people and thereby intensify National Integration.

 1927 saw the emergence of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha as an independent organisation and Mahatma Gandhi was its President till he breathed his last.

Different courses and examinations
Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha conducts different levels of courses and conducts examinations in Hindi at all these levels - Parichaya, Prathamik, Madhyama, Rashtrabhasha, Praveshika, Rashtrabhasha Visharad, Rashtrabhasha Praveen, and Nishnath.

This wing also conducts Examination in Hindi Typewriting (Lower, Higher & High Speed) and Shorthand in Hindi. These examinations are recognized by the Central and State Governments. Examinations are conducted twice a year in February and August. Almost 4 Lakhs students write the Examination in a year.

Convocation
This is an Annual event of Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in which the students who have passed Visharad and Praveen are awarded Certificates.

78th Convocation
Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha is in the process of celebrating its "Seventy Eighth Convocation" is on 28th Feb 2016.

In the past, Sarvasri Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya Kaka Kalelakar, Pandit Ram Naresh Tripathi, Babu Purushottam Das Tendon, Sarojini Naidu, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Zaheer Hussain, Dr Jagjeevan Ram, Lal Bahadur Sastri, Munshi Premchand, Dr Ramdhari Singh Dinakar, Morarji Desai, Dr V.V Giri, Shiv Mangal Suman, Dr Ranganath Misra, Radhakrishna Bajaj, Dr Iqbal Singh, Justice Dr V.S. Malimath and Vineet Joshi are some of the prominent leaders and writers who have delivered the convocation.

Highlights :
