The Department of School Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that a qualifying examination is scheduled to be conducted on 7th August for selection of the students studying in the government or government-aided high schools to attend the free coaching classes for NEET - National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and JEE - Joint Entrance Examination to pursue Engineering Courses. A pass in NEET is mandatory to pursue the medical courses of MBBS and BDS.
The State Government Department of School Education has informed that the details of questions and answers will be provided to the government or government-aided High Schools through E-mail.
The free coaching to participate in NEET/JEE will be given only on the basis of the performance in the above-mentioned qualifying examination.
The State Government Department of School Education has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with a private company to facilitate conducting free coaching classes as a preparation for writing NEET for the government or government-aided high school students of Tamil Nadu.
The above memorandum of Understanding was signed in the Government Central Secretariat.
Subsequently, the State Minister for School Education, K. A.Sengottaiyan had a session with the press reporters. He informed that during the 1st Phase of the implementation, 100 NEET coaching training centres will be set up throughout Tamil Nadu. Additional coaching centres will be set up gradually so that there would be 412 NEET free coaching centres before the end of January.
The Minister confirmed that this NEET free coaching is exclusive for the government and government-aided school students only and not for students from private schools.
In the above scenario, the State Government Department of School Education has now announced the date for the qualifying examination for selection of students of government or government-aided high schools for selection to attend the free NEET coaching classes as 7th August.
It has further informed that the selection for attending the free NEET coaching would be exclusively based on the performance in this qualifying examination.
