As the major activity of installing new iron beams in the subway near the Chennai Reserve Bank of India Building, the traffic police have announced some traffic changes from 14th September.
Southern Railway has planned to install new iron beams in the subway located near the Chennai Headquarters of the Reserve Bank of India near the Tamil Nadi Government Secretariat. The activities are set to start on 14th September.
Because of the above-proposed work, the traffic using the subway is rendered as 1-way traffic. Till the above activity gets completed, vehicles coming from Royapuram Bridge, Rajaji Salai proceeding to Kamarajar Salai will not be allowed to go via this subway. Instead, they have to take the alternative route - via the approach road for the RBI subway, the Northern Fort Road, Raja Annamalai Mandram, Muthusamy Road, Muthusamy Bridge, Wallaja Signal, Kpdimaram (Flagtree) Raod, to reach the War Memorial and then to Kamarajar Salai.
The vehicles coming from Kamarajar Salai and proceeding to Parry’s Corner can proceed via War Memorial, Central Secretariat. There is no change in this system.
