Jallikkattu: New rule framed for the bull-tamers!

The globally popular Madurai Alanhanallur Jallikkattu (Bull-fighting) event is scheduled to be conducted on 17th January.
The district collector has announced that the bull-fighters might be permitted to participate in the event only if they are 21 years of age.
Until last year, the minimum age for participating in the bull-fight was fixed at 18 years. However, the rule has been changed this year raising the minimum age limit for participation to be 21 years. The participants must be in the age-group 21-45.
The fitness test for the participants in the event of Jallikkattu is scheduled tomorrow (Friday, 10th January) at the Alankanallur Panchayat Union School.
It has also been informed that the physical fitness test for the participants in the Jallikkattu event at Palamedu scheduled on 16th January is scheduled on 11th January.
